These use the SCX Linux-based software to facilitate a broad scope of capabilities ranging from encoding to decoding to transcoding to recording all in one exceptional unit. It is ideal for up to 4 inputs/outputs or up to 10 transcodes. The 8100 can easily handle 4-5 HD services. Each service can have multiple outputs/destinations.
