The Gefen RMT-16IR is a remote control that lets you control your Gefen 4x4 Matrix Switcher wirelessly at a distance of up to 30 feet away from the Matrix. The 16 buttons cover all possible combinations of switching 4 input sources to 4 output ports. This paradigm makes it easy to remember common configurations.
How this Gefen remote control works:
Turn on the Matrix and point the RMT-16IR remote at the Matrix. Switching should be straightforward, corresponding to the Matrix manual, which will contain a table of all possible switching combinations using a remote control.
Note: If a local device in the room seems to interfere with the RMT-16IR's ability to communicate properly with the Matrix, open up both units and change the communication channels so that the Matrix and RMT-IR communicate on a new frequency. Please see the Matrix's manual for more details on this procedure.
